Shampoo Addicts Anonymous (SAA) this is for you! And finally the scoop on The Real Blowout!

I know it's tempting to squirt a half-bottle of your favorite lathering agent into your hair every morning, but watch yourself! Most people over-wash their fragile hair, stripping it of natural oils and bounce. Keep the shampoo measurement to a dime-sized dollop, no matter the length. Try to keep your shampooing to every other day -- just give it a water rinse on the off-days. Trust me; your hair will have much more divaness if it isn't squeaky clean.

Next to lip stick, jeans and her cell phone, a blow dryer is a girl's best friend. But using heat on your hair dries it out, burning away the natural oils that the hair follicle relies on to stay healthy. If you can manage, try to keep the heat down to only a few days a week. On off days, go for an updo, braids, or wear it down and define the curls (with favorite curl crème) while damp for a curly, disheveled look. If you're still a compulsive dryer addict, make sure to invest in a deep conditioning treatment.

The Sun is shining and it's time for some care for your hair. For all you beach and pool bunnies and dudes, while you are applying sunscreen to your golden skin remember to apply a UV protectant to your hair, especially anyone with color-treated hair. I personally love the Kerastase Aqua protective, it is UV protecting and also protects against the sea for all your ocean lovers.

If you're blonde and you haven't been warned about the chemicals in the pool and how you could possibly if not careful be sporting the "greenies", then you're really blonde. Some advice for you pool lovers especially you Blondies, Your hair can only absorb only so much moisture. If you wet it before you submerge your locks, less chemical damage will be done. Always try to shampoo with a clarifying shampoo immediately after getting out of a pool. If you have the greenies, I recommend Malibu 2000 clarify treatment. Remember the first step to a fabulous summer is fabulous hair.

Cheers!

Spring is here and if you haven't, please put your flat irons back in the closet or under the sink.

After working in New York at the Olympus Fashion Week and seeing all the trends, I recommend you run to the store and buy a shiny new curling iron. Curls, Waves, Volume are the way to access
orize your permanent accessory.

Try out L'Oreal's newest line, Serie Expert (www.serieexpertusa.com); they have a great volumizing shampoo and volumizing spray. Stay away from heavy pomades and gels. Mousse is ultra cool again, this time try putting your favorite mousse onto a comb and then raking it through your silky locks for a more even distribution. Start blowing with a thermal round brush or boar hair depending on the texture of your hair, fine, medium, or straight hair, I would recommend a thermal brush. Coarse or thick hair, a boar hair bristle brush.

After you have dried yourself to newer heights, grab your iron (I recommend a 1 inch to 1 ½ inch barrel) holding it in a horizontal position start taking 1 inch by 1 inch sections an
d wrap the hair around the barrel of the iron, you should be doing all the work while the iron stays stationary in a horizontal position. You may leave the ends out for a more casual look or have the iron grasp the ends for a more polished, glamorous look. Remember the only thing flat this season should be the bottled water you order at dinner.

Winter is here! Why not throw some beautiful brunette tones into your blonde. You can achieve this look by placing panels of different shades of brown(red, golden, iced chestnut)through the underneath of the hair staying about an inch from any part in the hair. This creates depth and texture, a touch of class and mystic for any blonde.

Can't stop there, Brunette is the new Black for hair. Everyone from Reese Witherspoon to Nikki Hilton has done it. Even if you are naturally a brunette you can enhance warm or cooler tones to create a new look.

With the correct shade of brunette you can be styling in sexy mode for the season. Subtle or dramatic your hair is an accessory, slip your new brunette on and rock out.
